My name is Alyssa Spiteri, and I am the owner and Lead Photographer of AES Photography, LLC! As a wedding and portrait photographer based in Detroit, I have the incredible honor of capturing love stories and life’s most meaningful moments. While Michigan is home, my passion for photography takes me all over the U.S. and beyond, preserving memories in the most beautiful destinations. A hobby turned into a passion and slowly became a dream come true
Where I Started
DREAMS DO COME TRUE
My love for photography began when I was just a young girl, bringing my point-and-shoot camera everywhere—from family vacations to life’s everyday moments. But it wasn’t until 2018, during my sophomore year at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), that I truly fell in love with the art of storytelling through imagery. I purchased my first DSLR camera, unaware that this simple decision would transform my life.
As I navigated my college years, I began capturing my experiences as a coed cheerleader at GVSU, preserving the energy, movement, and emotions of those unforgettable moments. What started as documenting my own journey quickly turned into something much greater—I found immense joy in capturing the milestones of my teammates and peers, from graduation sessions to personal portraits. One session led to another, and in the past few years, I’ve elevated my passion to a new level: curating luxury wedding and event photography experiences for couples who value timeless, elegant storytelling.

A Passion for Travel
Beyond capturing love stories and timeless portraits, I find endless inspiration in exploring the world. Traveling—both across the U.S. and internationally—fuels my creativity, allowing me to immerse myself in different cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and the architectural beauty that makes each destination unique. Every place I visit deepens my appreciation for storytelling, light, and the small details that make a moment unforgettable.
Some of my favorite destinations in the U.S. have been New Orleans, the Hawaiian Islands (Kauai, Maui, & Oahu), Las Vegas, South Florida (Fort Lauderdale, Orlando & Boca Raton), Sedona, Nashville, and Chicago. Each of these places holds a special charm, from the soulful energy of the French Quarter to the serene beauty of the desert and the vibrant cityscapes that provide the perfect backdrop for love stories.
Internationally, I’ve had the honor of experiencing Germany, Austria, and most recently, Italy—where I explored Rome, the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Praiano, Sorrento, and Florence. Later this year, I’ll be heading to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic to capture a stunning destination wedding, and I couldn’t be more excited to document love in such a breathtaking setting.
As I continue my journey, I dream of photographing love stories in Greece, Malta, Switzerland, Iceland, and France. Whether your wedding takes place in a historic European villa, along the cliffs of Santorini, or in an intimate setting closer to home, I would be honored to bring my passion for artistry and travel to tell your story in the most beautiful and meaningful way possible.

Little Things About Me
I earned my Bachelor’s of Science from GVSU specializing in Healthcare Management and furthered my education earning my Master’s Degree at The Johns Hopkins University, Carey Business School.
Being a business owner is one of my proudest achievements. It is such an honor to have the opportunity to be involved with so many amazing clients and sharing part in the moments they will never forget. Seeing and photographing the purest forms of love, the brightest smiles of achievement , and the emotion filling the room is a feeling I will forever be grateful for.
I am newly married as of October 2023! My husband David and I got married in Downtown Detroit! While being engaged, planning my own wedding and bridal events, and experiencing a wedding day as a bride, it has made me so passionate about my career in the wedding industry as a photographer and allowed me to have a new perspective as to how I can best serve and support my couples.
I love to socialize and spend time with my friends and family. Whether it is a night on the town together or a home cooked meal in, I love spending time with those I love most! I often find myself exploring different home decor shops! I love decorating my home and making it feel personal and cozy, and ready to entertain! I am and will always be a glitter girl! I love sequins and sparkles on just about anything. I love spending time in local coffee shops to edit. David and I also enjoy venturing to different restaurants to try new appetizers, drinks, and cuisines!
