Capturing Modern Luxury: Downtown Birmingham Engagement Session | Tyler & Ivy

If there's one thing I absolutely adore about being a photographer, it's the privilege of capturing love stories. And let me tell you, Ivy & Tyler's engagement session was nothing short of a dream. When Ivy and Tyler reached out to me for their engagement session in Downtown Birmingham, Michigan, I was over the moon. This city has a certain charm to it that feels personal and close to home.

The moment they arrived dressed in their chic, classic attire, I knew this session was going to be extraordinary. Ivy stunned in a white tulle mini dress, radiating modern sophistication and grace. Tyler, in his timeless all-black suit, exuded the perfect blend of class and style. Downtown Birmingham, with its picturesque streets and timeless architecture, provided the ideal backdrop for our shoot. As a photographer who thrives on capturing moments that feel both editorial and candid, this setting was a playground for creativity. Small shops, boutiques, and restaurant line the stretch of road in downtown Birmingham creating a mini city wonderland. We started their engagement session near the Starbucks intersection photographing in between changing lights and traffic.

I have had the honor to watch their relationship grow from a personal connection we had built in out past. I had the privilege to get to know them both while I was completing my under graduate degree in the same program as Ivy, where I was able to get to know her and later meet Tyler! The energy between Ivy & Tyler was infectious. Their chemistry, laughter, and the stolen glances—they made my job an absolute joy. I believe the magic of an engagement session lies in those unscripted moments, where love speaks through gestures, whispers, and shared smiles.
